Thomas Jollie

homas M. Jollie, 71, of Greensburg, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, in UPMC Shadyside. He was born Dec. 27, 1950, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Jack and Karoline (Mueller) Jollie. Prior to retirement, he had been an insurance agent for State Farm Insurance, in Mt. Pleasant, for almost 50 years. He served in the Army National Guard. Tom was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and was a founding member of the first official Men's Basketball Alumni Club at the Pitt at Greensburg campus and played on the first official men's basketball team. He was being elected to the Pitt Hall of Fame in February. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Jimmy Stulga. He is survived by his wife, Sharon P. (Fess) Jollie; two stepchildren, Jennifer Bier (Don) and David Vinsek (Sara); six grandchildren, Brandon, Dustin, Sierra, Montana, Samantha and Connor; his great-granddaughter, Kinsley; two brothers, Bill Jollie (Angela) and Kevin Jollie (Jennifer); two sisters, Barbara Jollie and Lindi Stulga (Joe); and several nieces and nephews. Per Tom's wishes, a private visitation and funeral service was held at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton St., Greensburg. Interment followed in St. Clair Cemetery with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post No. 33, Greensburg Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the University of Pitt-Greensburg Men's Basketball Alumni Club.
