In Memory

Danny Drylie

Daniel Thomas Drylie, 70, of Port St John, passed away unexpectedly January 4, 2021 at his home. He was born June 17, 1950, in Irwin, PA, the son of the late Robert E Drylie and the late Florence M (Brentzel) Drylie.

Dan graduated from Norwin High School, Class of 1968.  Following graduation he served with the U S Army, stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War.  He married his high school sweetheart and long time companion Cathy “Kitty” (Gongaware) Morgan who along with her children, Jamie Griesbaum and Shane Morgan, grandchildren Carter Griesbaum and Isabelle Morgan, survive him.

Dan was employed as a Field Engineer with Pinkerton and Laws for the past 20 years where he thoroughly enjoyed being part of the “P&L Family”, a team of hard working, friends and coworkers where he formed lasting friendships.  Danny was an avid fisherman from the time he was a young boy and especially loved fishing in the Laurel Mountains of PA as well as fishing and boating the FL waters with close friends.

He is greatly missed with his “Go Big or Go Home” way of expressing himself, his generosity he showed towards others, his strong work ethics and his giving spirit in showing he cared.  The void we feel in his passing will be filled with the abundant memories of the deep imprints he left on our lives.

So sorry to hear of Danny's passing. I worked at his parents Atlantic gas station during my high school years. My sympathy to Kathy and family. Always sad to see a fellow 68 classmate leave us.
