Betty A. Stearns, age 64, of Girard, passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at her residence.

She was born in McKeesport, on June 6, 1950, a daughter of the late George Danesky and Twila Richardson Philson.

After graduation from high school, she entered the U.S. Air Force. She was a secretary, a nurse, and was most recently a foster grandparent. She enjoyed visiting her family, friends, and going to church. Betty was also a talented singer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death an infant daughter, Tara Allgeier; and son, William A. Stearns Jr.

Betty is survived by her daughter Tamie Neiger and her husband Roger; grandchildren: Richard and Nathaniel Neiger; seven brothers: George Danesky and his wife Guelda, John, Charles, Terry, Robert and Michael Danesky; and two sisters: Kandy Zarlingo and Carla Weatherby; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Bethel Assembly of God, 1414 Lake St., in Girard, on Sunday at 10:30 a.m., with Reverend Marty Critchfield officiating.
